A Legacy of Excellence in Engineering

In 1963 an ambitious engineer, Sonny Waitz, teamed up with his colleague, Rex Frye, and formed the civil engineering firm, Waitz & Frye, Inc. In the late 1980’s Mr. Waitz was representing a utility company and began collaborating with John H. Moye, the co-founder and lead Project Engineer for Moye & Morales, Inc., a Jacksonville based civil engineering firm founded in 1986 in partnership with Mr. Moye’s wife and fellow engineer, Arelys Morales Moye.

The late 1980’s was a challenging time for businesses around the country. To strengthen their position in the engineering market, Mr. Waitz and the Moye’s joined forces. This partnership allowed the companies to provide more diverse professional services for the state, municipalities, and the private sector, all under one roof. In 1992, Waitz & Frye, Inc. merged with Moye & Morales, Inc. to become Waitz & Moye, Inc (WMI).

From infrastructure to private development, WMI has played an integral part in shaping Northeast Florida into what it is today. WMI continues to thrive and is proud to uphold the values of its original founders by providing the highest quality product to its customers, on time, and in a cost-effective manner. Furthermore, WMI takes pride in its family run office environment and personal relationship with clients, while delivering results with integrity.
